For the life of me I do not understand why corporate America is not more behind single-payer. Does anyone really think that once a company no longer has to purchase coverage for its employees they'll raise paychecks so their expenditures stay the same? Of course not, they'll keep everyone's paychecks the same and enjoy moving all of what was previously spent on health care into higher paychecks for their CEOs and boards.
What could be more Republican than that?
(I'd say "more conservative," but both the GOP and America's cutthroat "capitalism" have an ever-shrinking overlap with old-school conservative values and positions)
